South Carolina Senate votes 30-13 to put the government into the examining rooms
Columbia — The radical conservatives are (for the most part) taking a victory lap and Satan is dancing right now.
Senate Bill 1 passed 30-13, with Marion Democrat Kent Williams joining 29 Republicans in voting for the unconstitutional bill that would ban most abortions.
Charleston County Republican Sandy Senn, who was chastised by Richard Cash and other Republicans during the debate on S. 1, voted no.
“A person’s decision about their own health care should be made between them and their doctor – without government interference,” said Vicki Ringer in a statement. “We will stand with medical providers and reproductive health advocates to fiercely oppose this bill at every step.”
The bill moves to the state House of Representatives.
