Bill Goldberg is another meathead that should be left in the past

Glendale, Ariz. — Rihanna’s halftime performance during Super Bowl 57 boosted the big game to its highest ratings since 2017, and 5 million more people watched her performance than either the game or the advertisements themselves.

But, it is her performance that has gotten a lot of backlash in right wing circles.

Most of the complaints have been about how the fully clothed R&B singer was grabbing her completely opaque crotch, despite the fact that many male musicians across all genres do the same.

The latest to blow a gasket over this?

Former Georgia Bulldog and pro wrestler Bill Goldberg.

“I thought Rihanna was frickin’ horrible,” said Mr. Goldberg during a “CarCast” podcast on Wednesday. “I was disgusted by it. That’s all. Let’s just say that. I thought it was horrible.”

Mr. Goldberg went on to say that he preferred country rock musician Chris Stapleton’s national anthem performance because he “didn’t grab his crotch every 15 seconds” or “make it about himself”.

First of all, way too many people who sing the Star-Spangled Banner actually make it about themselves. I have seen this in NASCAR for myself during the pre-race ceremonies. I became so disgusted by how singers would hang notes, especially during the last two lines of the anthem, I flip the channel every time they sing the national anthem now (and especially moreso since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, since the penultimate line of the lyrics – the land of the free – is now a demonstrative lie).

Second, someone should have told this meathead, “no shit, Sherlock”, when he brought up Mr. Stapleton after complaining about Rihanna’s crotch-grabbing. It is easy to grab your crotch when holding only a microphone, as many male musicians in the R&B, Hip-Hop and Country music industries do. You cannot grab your crotch when playing a guitar. Playing a guitar absolutely requires the use of both hands.

Here is a short list of the numerous women who have either dressed provocatively or have written sexually suggestive songs that have not grabbed their crotches:

  • Chrissie Hynde
  • Lita Ford
  • Joan Jett
  • Lisa Coleman
  • Taylor Momsen
  • Ladyhawke (real name Pip Brown)

Each of these six women have one common denominator: they all play guitar. So, yea. Pretty hard to grab your crotch when playing guitar.

Another childhood hero turns into a complete douchebag.
