Conservatives have always believed that they should be above the law and violate laws at will without consequences

Palm Beach, Fla. — For all the talk about being for law and order and for funding the police, the conservatives are showing the true colors that I have long knew.

In short, conservatives are un-American, unpatriotic and hate equal justice under the law.

On Saturday morning, which was my birthday, Hearst Television via WJCL 22 reported that Donald John Trump is likely to be arrested before this week is over.

Trump then took to a social media site he runs and called for violent protests against Manhattan, N.Y. District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

And earlier today, Jim Jordan ordered DA Bragg to compromise this yearslong case by showing up to Washington, D.C., to reveal very sensitive information about the investigation that he took over as district attorney in 2021. The “hush money” case investigation has been ongoing since 2016, even before Trump officially went into the White House. The case would have ended two years earlier had it not been for COVID – and Trump’s gross mismanagement of the pandemic.

Ron DeSantis, who illegally suspended a Tampa area district attorney for exercising prosecutorial discretion, decided to get involved and launch a politically motivated attack on DA Bragg – all the while chomping at the bit to prosecute women and OB-GYNs for getting and delivering health care in Florida.

DA Bragg, thankfully, remains undeterred and has all but planned to defy Jordan’s illegal order that he and several high-profile GOP House members issued in a letter.

The reason the order the House Judiciary Committee sent is illegal is because district attorneys are bound by the States, not Congress or the White House.

Governor Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.) can legally remove Bragg as the Manhattan District Attorney if he abides by Jordan’s order or likely subpoena. She can also replace him with someone more progressive than him should she fire him.

Back to the bread and butter of this blogpost: the Republicans whining about an impending indictment or arrest of Trump have a massive sense of entitlement. Keep in mind: Trump has been breaking laws left and right for 50 years. Fifty years. And we are talking only about the former president. Not his father. Not his children.

Him.

The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) only documented the crimes he committed as president. So, CREW’s investigation does not include his violation of the Fair Housing Act in 1973 nor does it include the current probe in Manhattan in relation to the “hush money” incident that involved high-profile sex worker Stormy Daniels.

To put this into perspective, Trump’s been on a crime spree for a longer period of time than:

  • The existence of Rush as a band, which disbanded in 2020 after Neil Peart’s death.
  • The existence of Roe v. Wade, which was overturned on June 24, 2022.
  • The existence of the Tampa Buccaneers, Seattle Seahawks, Carolina Panthers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Baltimore Ravens and Houston Texans as NFL franchises.
  • The existence of the Carolina Hurricanes, Columbus Blue Jackets, Arizona Coyotes, Las Vegas Knights, Florida Panthers and Seattle Kraken as NHL franchises.
  • The existence of the Toronto Raptors, Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans as NBA franchises.
  • The existence of the Miami Marlins, Arizona Diamondbacks and Tampa Rays as MLB franchises.
  • Many Americans, myself included, have been alive.

That should give you an idea of how long Trump has been breaking the law.

Then again, all conservatives and Republicans believe that they should be able to break any law on the books and get away with it.

And if you don’t believe me, just read or listen to them on social media and elsewhere when liberal blue state legislators pass common-sense gun laws.

That, right there, is a very tiny example of how lawless American conservatives have become throughout the decades.

There are plenty more examples.

Since 1973, conservatives have repeatedly assaulted the 13th Amendment and a majority of them want to repeal it. They have also taken aim at the Mann Act, which still allows for the prosecution of many people for trafficking pregnant people if the intent is to prevent an abortion, among a slew of other things this 1910 law allows for the prosecution of.

Since 1943, conservatives have repeatedly assaulted the 1st Amendment and an even bigger majority of them want it gone. In the prior post, I wrote about how conservatives have long wanted to abolish the First Amendment, and the fact that they have succeeded in numerous states, most recently in Louisiana. And the unconstitutional bans on public nudity, sex toys and pornography are only the beginning here: they want to ban peaceful protests during the Pledge of Allegiance and the Star-Spangled Banner; ban journalists from covering their fascist agenda; ban books from public schools and ban protests against police brutality among other things.

And, naturally, of course, conservatives have never supported equal justice under the law. Look at the judicial systems in Georgia and the Carolinas and then look at New York’s.

In New York, especially since George Pataki left office, the state has created a justice system that is much closer to equal justice under the law as promised in many of our nation’s documents. The same cannot be said about the judicial systems in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina or most other red states.

In the Tri-State region and in other red states, it is distinctly clear that we have two judicial systems. It is also clear in these states that conservatives can break hundreds of laws and get away with it, too.

That is why we need more district attorneys like Mr. Bragg and Atlanta’s Fani Willis, both of whom are fucking up the right’s entitled world at this moment.

As all people who are 100% woke believe: no one is above the law, and no one should be above the law.
