Winter Weather Advisory for Aiken, Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Hampton and Orangeburg counties – snow showers likely along and north of US 78 (Updated)

UPDATE at 10:48 am Friday: Winter Weather Advisory is now active for Burke, Columbia, Edgefield, McDuffie and Richmond counties. This now includes Girard, Waynesboro, Appling, Evans, Grovetown, Edgefield, Johnston, Murphys Estates, Trenton, Thomson, Hephzibah and Augusta.

UPDATE 2 at 12:33 pm Friday: Updated the projected snow totals and added municipalities from Burke, Columbia, Edgefield, McDuffie and Richmond counties to the projected ice and snow totals.

UPDATE 3 at 2:03 pm Friday: Winter Weather Advisory is now active for Emanuel, Glascock, Jefferson, Taliaferro, Warren and Wilkes counties. This now includes Adrian, Swainsboro, Gibson, Louisville, Wrens, Crawfordville, Warrenton, Rayle, Tignall and Washington. We have added projected ice and snow totals for these areas.

UPDATE 4 at 3:43 pm Friday: Winter Weather Advisory is active for the rest of the Aiken Area – Bulloch, Jenkins, Lincoln, McCormick and Screven counties. This includes Portal, Statesboro, Millen, Lincolnton, Clarks Hill, McCormick, Mount Carmel, Hilltonia and Sylvania. We have added projected ice and snow totals for these areas.

As they say, here we go again.

The winter weather is now expected to be in the southeastern portion of the Aiken Area.

Crash on DUNBARTON BLVD involving FedEx vehicle

Barnwell — There is a major crash involving a FedEx truck on the only multi-lane highway in the county.

According to the People-Sentinel and the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the two vehicle crash happened in front of Wade’s Repair Service on DUNBARTON BLVD.

Orangeburg reports 61 mph winds + complete local wind gust reports

Orangeburg — On Monday, Orangeburg Regional Airport was one of several to report storm force winds in the Aiken Area.

The National Weather Service in Columbia noted that winds at Orangeburg was measured at 61 mph. That’s classified as storm force winds under the Beaufort scale.

Marjorie Taylor Greene is permanently suspended by Twitter

San Francisco — Another US politician has been permanently suspended by Twitter for refusing to comply with their terms of use.

According to NBC News, US Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene has been permanently suspended by the social media outlet because she repeatedly and egregiously violated COVID misinformation policies. Twitter said that she accumulated five strikes since she was sworn in as a representative on January 4, 2021.
