Even with the death of the Lumia, Windows Mobile to maintain 2% market share in the States heading into 2017

Redmond, Wash. — On Friday, the Lumia line was officially killed off, leading to Windows Mobile’s worldwide market share dropping like a boulder from the Kentucky mountains to the bottom.

Heading into 2017, Microsoft’s Windows Mobile’s market share is only decimal points around the everywhere around the world.

Everywhere, that is, except for in Microsoft’s home country: the United States.

Heading into 2017, the market share of Windows Mobile has remained steady since March at 2%. Meaning at 1 in every 50 smartphone users, the US is the nation that you are the most likely to see a Windows Mobile user. Read the rest of this entry »

One second is being added to 2016, and do not get optimistic about 2017

As is the case with every leap year ever since switching to the Gregorian calendar in 1582, an extra second will be tacked on to the end of the year.

That got a lot of people up in arms. To be honest, 2016 will actually be the last decent year of the decade, which continues until this day in 2020.

The year 2017 is expected to be even worse than the much maligned 2016, and not just because of the GOP’s vow to run our country into the ground and turn America into a worldwide cesspool.

  • The Alcatel Idol 4s with Windows 10 VR will be the only truly secure smartphone available for US consumers until Microsoft can figure out how to market and sell the “cellular PC” to the public. The other secure smartphones, the Acer Liquid Jade Primo and the HP Elite x3, are catered towards businesses.
  • More Baby Boomer celebrities will die, some of them untimely. However, which one is the highest profile remains to be seen.
  • There will not be a perfect season in the NFL.
  • There will be a warm winter and a hot and humid summer nationwide.
  • The Atlanta Braves will still flounder.
  • The rich and powerful will continue to get welfare at our expense.

So, for those who want 2016 to go away thinking 2017 will be much better, you got another thing coming.

#RIPLumia: The Lumia line dies today

Redmond, Wash. — As of 17:00 Vietnam Time (5:00 Williston Time), the Microsoft Lumia line will be executed.

Reports throughout the year noted that Microsoft intends to stop production on the line by the last business day this year. That is today. Read the rest of this entry »

Cumbee Center exec wants Corley expelled from legislature

Rainbow Falls — As most of the world now knows, gun rights proponent Chris Corley (R-Graniteville) was booked on first degree criminal domestic violence charges and pointing and presenting a firearm.

Those two charges carry a minimum 15 year sentence in jail.

Corley bonded out of the Aiken County Jail late Tuesday, on $20,000.00. Read the rest of this entry »

Pa. woman guns down ex-boyfriend simply because he said “no” to her!

Philadelphia — What was originally thought of as a fatal crash wound up turning into a case of female entitlement that has claimed another man’s life in 2016.

Martina Westcott, 27, gunned down her 33-year-old ex-boyfriend on Tuesday for the most outrageous of reasons that we have seen far too often within the past three years overall, and from the past five months alone from women.

All because the male victim rejected her. Read the rest of this entry »

More Republican corruption and immorality on display: Corley, who represents Aiken County, arrested for domestic violence

Graniteville — One idiot who wants hotheaded enthusiasts to brandish guns in front of your five year old kids on school grounds was arrested for criminal domestic violence in the first degree. Read the rest of this entry »

Jimmie Johnson’s historic seventh title, Connecticut’s fourth straight NCAA title are Aiken Area Progressive’s top sports stories of 2016

Two sports that do not get a whole lot of respect from the mainstream sports media – women’s basketball and auto racing – made historic headlines that will last a lifetime.

And thus, that’s why two events that happened in those sports are the Top Sports Stories of 2016.

Before we get to those, let’s countdown the other ten biggest sports stories: Read the rest of this entry »

Rape victims on college campuses are 700% more likely to be killed by their attackers if guns are allowed on campuses – but stats like that do not stop out-of-touch legislators in Columbia

Denmark — Out-of-touch state legislators in Columbia are at it again, trying to force their out-of-control gun culture onto educational institutions.

Bill Chumley, the idiot behind the unconstitutional bill to ban pornography in the state claiming it is a “health crisis”, and Steven Long, the idiot behind the bill to ban transgender people from using public bathrooms in the state, are behind H 3262, a bill that would truly create a real health crisis should it become law.

H 3262 would force public institutions of higher education to put their entire student bodies in grave danger by allowing guns on their campuses. Read the rest of this entry »

Co-ed files Title IX lawsuit against College of Charleston, but it is likely too late

Charleston — A West Coast co-ed has filed a Title IX lawsuit against the College of Charleston.

However, should the Senate GOP appoint one judge to the US Supreme Court, the victim’s lawsuit will not see the light of day because any Trump appointed judge would side with the court’s four conservative jurists to kill all pending Title IX lawsuits. Read the rest of this entry »

Different sponsor, same transphobic bill: Steven Long wants to ban transgender people from using public bathrooms

Columbia — Take a good look at Steven Long (R-Boiling Springs).

He’s the guy who wants to ban transgender people from using public bathrooms, and if he has his way, transgender people would be prohibited from using the bathroom during public events like high school football games, and cisgender men would be banned from using the women’s bathroom even if the men’s bathroom is filled to capacity and he has a life-threatening emergency situation at said events. Solicitors not finished when it comes to ferreting out corruption in South Carolina

Jim Merrill (R-Daniel Island). Undated pic. Merrill was hit with thirty charges on Thursday.

Columbia — Corruption is rife in any state with a right-to-work law. It is also present in Chicago.

However, the corruption is so deep in South Carolina, it has led to one solicitor to say that many more currently elected state Representatives and Senators – including a handful of the super-minority Democrats – could be charged as he continues to investigate.

Jim Merrill, photographed above, was officially indicted on thirty charges on Thursday. The Daniel Island conservative is the first politician to be criminally charged with corruption since conservative House Majority Leader Bobby Harrell pleaded guilty in 2014. He resigned in disgrace from the House of Representatives the day after.

Merrill has vehemently denied any wrongdoing. He pled innocent to all charges on Thursday. His bond was set at $146,000.00, which is roughly 18% of the amount that he is accused of accepting in kickbacks and bribes.
