Cleveland to become the second US pro sports franchise to dump racist mascot name

Cleveland, Ohio — The “Indian” is going to go bye-bye.

The baseball team by Lake Erie in Ohio announced the change on Monday. However, the Indians will continue to be their name until a new one is selected, according to the owner, Paul Dolan.

Can Margaret Ellen Bradford’s viral image get America to finally accept breastfeeding and nudity as normal and natural?

margaret ellen bradford breastfeeding at bernie sanders rally

CLEVELAND, Ohio — On Leap Day, there was a rally for the Bernie Sanders campaign, which is still alive after Super Tuesday.

In that rally, a stay-at-home mother named Margaret Ellen Bradford, of Barberton, brought her youngest daughter, Harper, along.

In the middle of the rally, Harper indicated she was hungry, so Ms. Bradford did what other mothers would do in that situation.

She nursed Harper.

“While there, she got hungry like babies do,” wrote Ms. Bradford on Facebook. She added that she wasn’t aware that she was being photographed during the rally.

And with that, the hashtag #BoobsforBernie was born.

However, even with Ms. Bradford’s act, the issue of breastfeeding – and the (even) larger issue of nudity in public – have caused anti-nudity activists all over the country to send her hate mail.

“Honestly I’ve cried three times already from some of the hateful messages I’ve received, telling me my daughter should be taken or that I’m just an uneducated lowlife hick,” she wrote online.

In late 2014, Personhood Ohio director Patrick Johnston tried to pressure the state legislature to outlaw breastfeeding after a group of Warsaw strippers who were harassed by members of New Beginnings Ministries, the church Mr. Johnston is the pastor at, for many years decided to bring the church a taste of their own medicine.

“Women buy into that idea (that breasts are sexual objects),” female topless advocate and mommy writer Ravion Lee told CNN. “If we use our breasts for anything other than ‘play’ it’s not OK.”

Experts at the American Academy of Pediatrics recommend new mothers breastfeed their children for at least the first 12 months. However, only about 25% of infants were breastfeeding at 12 months.

Here’s to hoping that Ms. Bradford’s wonderful act of nursing will led to much greater acceptance of breastfeeding and nudity as normal and natural acts that should not in any way be subjected to the whims of Bible-beating moralists in our local and state governments in these United States.

RIP Society: Ohio pastor wants to unconstitutionally outlaw female toplessness, public breastfeeding after sex workers give him a dose of his own medicine

WARSAW, Ohio — For the longest time, intolerant Christians from New Beginnings Ministries had protested a strip club every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

Sex workers then had more than enough of the harassment and turned the tables.  They protested the church last Sunday in their professional attire.

Now, the congregation from the church is whining.

Thomas George, who owns Fox Hole North in Walhonding, Ohio, and a second strip club called Fox Hole South in Zanesville, Ohio, said he ran out of ideas to keep members of the congregation of New Beginnings Ministries out of his parking lot.  Judges denied two injunctions that Mr. George sought to bar church protesters to at least 100 feet from his property.

“We’ve been backed into a corner, and they continue to harass the customers,” said Mr. George.  “I don’t want to (use nudity), but obviously he doesn’t understand the meaning of just go away.”

“I’m not here trying to hurt anybody, I just want them to know — I’m not going to sit back and let them come to my place of business and harass me, harass my customers,” said a dancer named Veronica.

And the business has compiled years of documents of harassment by the church.  Church members have gone as far as taking photos of customers’ license plates – a tactic of harassment and terrorism similar to what Operation Rescue does to patients who get a legal health carer service at abortion clinics.  And yet, judges have ruled this harassment and terrorism campaign by New Beginnings Ministries as legal.

Mr. George is now vowing to take the church to court for harassment if they do not back off.

Meanwhile, church members are calling for a complete ban on public nudity – and the proposal written by one of their members, Patrick Johnston, would also completely ban breastfeeding in public.  This is a no-exceptions ban that if enacted, will drop the number of states to 49 in which breastfeeding is legal, and, if enacted, this definitely will violate numerous Constitutional amendments, including the First, 13th and 14th amendments.  The current law as written already violates the 14th Amendment rights of men, nudists and naturists.

“I think what they did was an offense to God, was an offense to the public morality and the legislature should act to criminalize what they did,” said Johnston.

Now he’s urging Ohioans to contact state lawmakers.

Well, so are we.  We strongly urge Ohioans to contact their lawmakers and tell them to oppose any attempt to ban public nudity and instead demand that state legislators exempt nudity from Ohio indecent exposure laws.

Here is the contact information for the Ohio State House of Representatives.

Here is the contact information for the Ohio State Senators.

Get to work!  Tell the state legislature to resist any and all demands being made by Patrick Johnston and his bigoted gymnophobic church!

BREAKING NEWS: John Kasich lies to the people, decides to wage a war on Ohio’s women

John Kasich breaks his promise, signs anti-choice laws

COLUMBUS — Ohio Gov. John Kasich lied to the people and in the process, broke a promise not to sign anti-choice measure on Sunday evening by signing a litany of unconstitutional anti-choice measures that passed on the final day of the Ohio State legislature’s 2013 session.

The bills he signed would do some of the following:

  1. Shut down all women’s healthcare providers in the Buckeye State.
  2. Defund Planned Parenthood, the only true women’s healthcare provider nationwide.
  3. Defunds all rape crisis centers in the state of Ohio.
  4. Bans all hospitals — both public and private — from allowing admitting privileges from OB-GYNs
  5. Requires all physicians to lie in saying that abortion causing breast cancer, which we all know is not true.
  6. Doubles the abortion waiting period
  7. Requires women to be sexually assaulted by the government via ultrasounds

All of these proposals will definitely be challenged in federal court first thing Monday morning. Ohio is not in the judicially activist conservative Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals. [WLWT-DT News 5] Read the rest of this entry »

Watch: Cleveland-area crisis pregnancy center caught lying to women

CLEVELAND, OH — While most of us were focused like a laser on the now-defeated Senate Bill 5, there was something else that went down on Tuesday afternoon about 1,200 miles to the northeast of Texas.

A 19 year old woman named “Kate” took film at a crisis pregnancy center. The film was then posted to the web by the Crisis Project, an organization that exposes the dirty little secrets and lies about crisis pregnancy centers.

While devastating, the results of this sting was not surprising at all to those — like NARAL — who scrutinized crisis pregnancy centers nationwide (like the ones in Aiken; Allendale and Augusta, Ga.) for many years now.

As I posted on Tuesday evening to The Frisky’s Lady News, I’m posting these videos to the blog so that everyone around the world can see the crisis pregnancy centers at their absolute very best: lying to pregnant women at a time in which they are the most vulnerable.

The lies that crisis pregnancy centers tell are not minor, folks.
