Man murders ex-wife’s boss at restaurant, kidnaps her, then murders her and commits suicide

Man guns down wife, victim’s boss, in domestic violence double murder-suicide

LAVONIA, Ga. — A man gunned down his ex-wife and her boss before committing suicide this weekend in Upstate Georgia.

The Hart County Sheriff’s Department said that the suspect busted inside the restaurant shortly after it parted for the night on Saturday.

Sheriff Mike Cleveland of Hart County said that the suspect, Sammy, was armed (legally) and began littering the business with bullets.

“There were a lot of shots fired in there,” said Sheriff Cleveland.

Frohmuller’s Grill’s owner, the domestic violence victim’s boss, was caught in the crossfire and hit.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.

“We’re not sure if Mr. Forkin was just a bystander or if he was targeted by [redacted],” said Sheriff Cleveland.

Sammy then looked for one employee in particular.  His ex-wife.  The others fled to safety.  She wasn’t so fortunate.

Sammy kidnapped the woman he was formerly married to and took her from Hart County to Franklin County to a place that both knew.  One that was burned down.

Sammy had a history of being possessive and extremely jealous of Lori, long after their marriage imploded, according to Sheriff Cleveland.

Former flea market owner arrested for sexually raping his underaged family member

Ex-flea market owner arrested for raping 13-year-old family member

AUGUSTA, GA — The ex-owner of the South Augusta Flea Market is in jail this weekend, charged with raping one girl in his family for seven years.

The alleged victim wrote in a statement to deputies that Rhodes started making sexual and lewd comments to her when she was 6-years-old (in 2006), and started raping and molesting her when she was 8-years-old (in 2009). She also claims he pointed a gun at her.

Harold Eugene “Dusty” Rhodes, 78, of Augusta, was arrested and charged with rape (one count), non-aggravated child molestation (one count), aggravated child molestation (three counts). He was still at the Augusta-Richmond County Detention Center.

There is a question as to whether this rapist will get to trial. After all, as the article and post tells you, this rapist is 78, which means he is on borrowed time.

Let’s hope this victim gets the justice she deserves before he dies.

Tragic Women’s History: Simone Montgomery is first female jockey to die during horse race

Simone Montgomery (1986-2013) dies during Darwin Cup event, first woman to die in a horse race

DARWIN, Australia — Tragedy struck during the Darwin Cup.

Simone Montgomerie, 26, died after she fell from her mount, Riahgrand, and was trampled by a half-dozen other horses.

Darwin Turf Club chairman Brett Dixon said Ms. Montgomerie sustained “traumatic injuries” in the home straight.

She was treated by doctors at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Royal Darwin Hospital. She died at the hospital.

“It is with great regret that we were advised by the family that Simone passed away shortly after arriving at the hospital,” Dixon said. “Stewards agreed it was best to abandon the meeting in order to begin an investigation into this tragic event.”

As far as the Darwin Turf Club is concerned, she was our family, and we’re all devastated by this accident.”

Ms. Montgomerie won 27 times in 2012. She is the first female jockey killed while horse racing.

Ms. Montgomerie would have been 27 later this year.

I really hate to say this, but I really do not think that Australian horse racing will ever recover from this. Ms. Montgomerie’s death is the most devastating national tragedy in every word possible.

I had to hold back tears while writing this.

Charlotte area’s serial flasher arrested — again

Man arrested for flashing five year old boy, aunt

GASTONIA, NC — A man who has amassed a list of lewd charges that stretch from Gastonia to Chester has been arrested again — on the same charges.

Dea Williams was arrested and charged with of resisting arrest and indecent exposure. The judge raised Mr. Williams’s bond to $200,000 on Friday after learning he violated his probation by removing the ankle bracelet less than two days after leaving jail for his previous conviction last month.

This is the eighth arrest for Mr. Williams in the Charlotte Designated Market Area since 2010 on the charges.

He flashed a woman and her 5-year-old nephew on Thursday.

He was just convicted on July 16 on flashing a woman (not the same victim of this incident) in a church parking lot and for flashing himself inside a non-profit center that helps sexual assault victims, according to prosecutors.

Mr. Williams is due back in court on August 9. Let’s hope they sent him to jail for more than just 10 days this time. Nude is not lewd, but what Mr. Williams has been doing since 2010 most certainly is — as all of the evidence gathered from when this all started clearly show that he was wearing clothes and then pulled the pants down in each one of the incidents, enticing unsuspecting targets.

Abusive Hampton County man convicted of murdering ex-girlfriend

Hampton man convicted of murdering ex-girlfriend

BEAUFORT — A thirty-four year-old abusive Hampton man will now spend a minimum of forty-five years in prison with no chance of parole after he was found guilty of murdering his ex-girlfriend and dumping her lifeless body in a river in Beaufort.

Judge Maite Murphy sentenced Kelvin Jackson, 34, of Hampton, to 45 years in prison without the possibility of parole. That is effectively a life sentence, given the fact that the life expectancy of African-American men is around 71.

Earlier in the day, Mr. Jackson was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend after she informed him of her intentions to leave him for good.

“I’m very pleased with the verdict and pleased for the family,” said Deputy Solicitor Sean Thornton. “Jackson is a very dangerous man, and he deserves every day of the sentence the judge gave him.”

The woman was last seen alive on May 25, 2011 at her Hampton residence along Middle St. She was found five days later, dead at the Broad River in Beaufort by a fisherman.

Mr. Jackson killed the woman in Hampton County, and disposed of her body in Beaufort County.

The trial was moved to Beaufort County.

This is what justice for a domestic violence victim looks like: No parole at all for this violent offender and father of the kids whose mother he slain.

FemCare plans to re-open after politically motivated suspension of business license

FemCare plans to re-open after license was ‘suspended’ for 23 violations

ASHEVILLE — There is a little bit of good news.

FemCare, the only clinic that survived the #motorcyclevagina law, says that they plan to re-open after the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services suspended their business license for 23 violations Wednesday evening.

For now, though, they remain closed after a politically motivated suspension.

Rep. Susan Fisher (D-Buncombe) said the inspection was politically motivated, telling WMYA MY 40, “On a scale of one to ten, it’s definitely a ten, because we knew and they knew that Femcare was one of the few, if not the only, facility that would be available to women who need this kind of care. And now their license has been pulled.”

Obviously, she knew the same thing I did.

Women’s health and rights activists say that the recently-signed #motorcyclevagina law is not needed as current regulations are already working as is. “At NARAL Pro-Choice NC, we believe everyone should have access to safe, quality reproductive health care,” said the group’s executive director, Suzanne Buckley, in a statement. “The DHHS citations reinforce our position that the current regulations are working and SB 353 is unnecessary, politically motivated. Some have suggested that timing of the citations is suspicious and politically motivated. It certainly deserves further inquiry. Our efforts will continue to be focused on advancing and protecting access to reproductive healthcare for all North Carolinians.”

“I think this is continued evidence that the regulations we already have in place are working,” Melissa Reed, vice president of public policy for Planned Parenthood Health Systems, told the Asheville Citizen Times. “It is absolutely critical that every single clinic meet current regulations, and that any violations are met in a direct and speedy manner.”

N.C. man arrested for domestic violence after hitting girlfriend with pizza

Man arrested for throwing pizza at girlfriend

NORTH WILKESBORO, NC — This is what really grinds my gears!

A 25-year-old Wilkes County man was arrested on Sunday for throwing a pizza at his girlfriend.

Wilkes County Sheriff’s Department detectives received a call from the neighbor of the man and the victim, his 19-year-old girlfriend.

The call came after the neighbor, Jennifer Freeman, knocked on the man’s door to get a smoke in with him. Then, as the man went to answer the door, he slipped and fell. (The floor was wet.) That pissed him off so much, he chucked at least one slice of pizza at his girlfriend. That’s when the two women ran next door — without the cigarette — and called the WCSO. The man did not physically strike either of the women, though the pizza did not recover.

Upon arrival at the scene, one Wilkes County Sheriff’s officer observed “pizza sauce on the back of [the victim’s] right rib cage” and “pieces of pizza all over the living room floor as well as on the wall behind the front entrance door to the apartment.”

The man tried to deny that he threw the pizza, but evidence showed otherwise.

Cody Sebastian Parsons, 25, of Wilkesboro, was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence. He was booked into the Wilkes County Detention Center.

Like I said this morning with the Fort Mill story, PIZZA IS MADE FOR EATING! Pizza was not, nor will ever be, made for abusing women!

All-female gangs on the rise?

Police lookout for increase in female gang members and all-female gangs

ALBANY, GA — The Albany Police Department says that there is a disturbing trend that they are monitoring.

The Albany Police Department Gang Task Force investigators estimate up to 10% of gang members are female.

It’s uncommon for an entire gang to be made up of only girls and women, but more gangs have female members who are often involved in crimes.

“Their roles are typically to hold drugs or guns,” said Investigator Janel Herring. “Because they feel that females won’t get that much time if they are caught. Or if they won’t they can hide it in place where it possibly can’t be found.”

Girls as young as 8 are involved in gangs.
