Richmond County Sheriff Richard Roundtree tests positive for COVID-19
Augusta, Ga. — The sheriff of Richmond County tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday afternoon.
According to the Jail Report, Sheriff Richard Roundtree was informed that he tested positive. However, he was also informed that he was asymptomatic for the crippling virus.
He has agreed to self-quarantine until May 22, which is two weeks from the date of the positive test, in accordance with the CDC guidelines.
In the meantime, no word on who will assume the duties of Sheriff while Sheriff Roundtree is in quarantine.
