More Republican corruption and immorality on display: Corley, who represents Aiken County, arrested for domestic violence
Graniteville — One idiot who wants hotheaded enthusiasts to brandish guns in front of your five year old kids on school grounds was arrested for criminal domestic violence in the first degree.
According to the jail log written by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office, officers were summoned Monday night to a residence off CONNECTOR RD by a female victim, who caught Corley in the act of cheating on her. She told officers that Corley punched her in the face, causing an injury.
Seconds later, she also noted that Corley made a death threat against her while children were at the residence.
The victim said Corley stopped hitting her once he heard crying from the children and noticed blood gushing from her head. It was then, the woman told officers, that Corley went out to the vehicle and came back inside pointing a handgun at her and telling her he was going to kill himself. Corley then went into a bedroom.
The victim then scampered from the house with her kids to her mother’s house across the street. When officers were summoned, Corley told them that he and the victim got into a verbal argument because the victim had accused him of cheating. Corley told officers that the victim tried to hit him in his face with his fist, and he pushed her off of him. During the push, Corley told officers, is when the victim allegedly scratched him in the forehead.
Chris Corley, who represents portions of Aiken County in the South Carolina House of Representatives, was arrested today by the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office at 1:02. In addition to the aforementioned charge, Corley also faces a charge of pointing and presenting firearm(s) at a person.
The 36-year-old is at the Aiken County jail. He faces up to five years in jail on the pointing charge.
