Horry County conservative pleads guilty to sexual assault
Surfside Beach — An Horry County conservative who resigned from the state House of Representatives in disgrace 13 months ago has pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a woman.
Nelson Hardwick, a conservative GOP politician, pleaded guilty on November 18 to third degree criminal sexual conduct.
However, he as given a slap on the wrist: a $300.00 fine.
Hardwick sexually assaulted a young pager who was employed by him via luring her to his office, according to indictment papers. He resigned in disgrace shortly thereafter.
