Hilton Head Island — The sun finally came out at Harbour Town.

And the sun shone brightest on Luke Donald.

Mr. Donald shot two under par on Saturday to take a one-shot lead into the final round of the RBC Heritage.

“I haven’t been in this position as much as I would have liked the last couple of years,” said Mr. Donald, currently 95th in the Official World Golf Ranking. “But certainly I have been in this position many times, and I’ll draw from that. I know especially around this place, I think if there’s one tournament I’ve been in this position the most, it would be this one.”

Jason Day, the world #1 and Friday’s leader, had a near catastrophic collapse on Saturday. He fired an eight over par 79 and fell out of the Top 40.

“I really wanted to stay out of Kevin’s way,” said Mr. Day. “I know that he really wants to win a tournament. He’s had two second-place finishes already this year. And my bad play, I just felt like it may have affected him.”
