Microsoft finally has visual voicemail on the dual SIM Lumia 950 XL. Why can’t they release a VoLTE update?
REDMOND, Wash. — A Redstone update to the Lumia 950 XL dual SIM now has one of the two most requested features: visual voicemail.
The other highly requested feature is nowhere to be found.
Voice on LTE, or VoLTE, is a feature Microsoft built and (seems like) disabled on their flagships upon announcement. A few dual SIM phones, most notably, the Android Marshmallow devices like the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Duos, have VoLTE.
If Android Marshmallow can do VoLTE successfully on dual SIM devices, I’m positive that Microsoft can to the same with Windows 10 Mobile.
That’s why there shouldn’t be any more delays in getting VoLTE on the Windows 10 phones. Microsoft needs to immediately release a new Windows 10 Redstone build to the fast ring with VoLTE on the supported devices: the Lumia 950, Lumia 950 XL, Lumia 650 and Lumia 550.
