BASKING RIDGE, N.J. — A damning investigation as to why Microsoft, Alcatel and Acer had disabled the CDMA radios and removed support for Band 13 LTE on their phones has gotten a lot more explosive.

Several independent investigations found that Verizon Wireless is deliberately blocking all five Windows 10 phones, none of which have been released at the moment, from accessing their expansive LTE and CDMA networks.

From YouTube, with Paul Thurrott and Mary Jo Foley:

Mr. Thurrott and Ms. Foley talk about Microsoft’s two flagships, the Lumia 950 and 950 XL, and how Verizon, since July, had blocked the phones from accessing their network. We at Aiken Area Progressive also suspect that Verizon is blocking the other three Windows 10 phones – Microsoft’s budget Lumia 550, Alcatel’s One Touch, and Acer’s flagship Liquid Jade Primo – from accessing their network.

For some reason, I knew that Verizon (VZ, VZW) would pull some kind of shenanigans and lo and behold, I was right.

Verizon has done nothing to earn my business and everything to lose it. I’ll never get a phone on their network now.

I have a Verizon SIM card that I’m willing to sell for a nominal fee of $2. Any IPhone owners want it?
