Troy Merritt ties course record with 61
HILTON HEAD ISLAND — Troy Merritt fired a course record-tying 10-under-par 61 on Friday to take a commanding four stroke lead into the weekend.
Masters champion Jordan Spieth had the second-best round of the day, firing a nine-under-par 62 to bounce back after a three-over-par 74 on Thursday. He is now at -6 after two.
Aikenite Kevin Kisner is also in the hunt, at -7.
