Augusta woman murders boyfriend, then intentionally sets fire, burning herself to death
AUGUSTA, Ga. — An Augusta-Richmond County woman has died at Doctors Hospital after she burned herself badly in an attempt to destroy evidence that links her to the brutal, unprovoked slaying of her boyfriend.
Sources told the Jail Report that Karla Harter (left), stabbed her boyfriend, 51, to death before she intentionally set the fire, according to authorities.
“The fire was definitely a suspicious fire,” said Augusta-Richmond County’s Chief Deputy Coroner Kenneth Boose. “It was intentionally set.”
Ms. Harter succumbed to her injuries afterwards.
Meanwhile, officers and others continue to comb over the scene at CRAWFORDVILLE DR in search of any evidence that was unburned or survived the fire.
