Man charged with murder in death of woman in Beaufort County

PRITCHARDVILLE — A man is in the Beaufort County jail charged with murdering one of his neighbors.

At around 8:10 today, a daughter found her 60-year-old mother dead inside her residence on Barefoot Alley, near the intersection with May River Rd.

The sexagenarian died by blunt force trauma to her head with a metal object, according to a press release from the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office.

Both the victim and suspect knew each other. They were acquaintances.

Walter William Glass, 41, was arrested by the BCSO and charged with murder, armed robbery and burglary.

Gaston County man pleads innocent to additional charge in girlfriend’s 2012 death

GASTONIA, NC — A Gaston County man who is charged with his brother with murdering his girlfriend has another charge added to his rap sheet.

Mark Collins is already charged with malice murder, attempted malice murder, possession of counterfeit substance and possession with intent to sell a counterfeit substance.

He pleaded innocent to all the charges.

He also pleaded innocent to a fifth charge that was handed down today: assault with a deadly weapon.

The Gaston County Sheriff’s Office says that the new charge is in relation to the murder of Mr. Collins’s girlfriend, whom Mr. Collins shot in the back of the head.

Woman arrested for hitting boyfriend as he was driving, nearly colliding with squad car

SPARTANBURG — A Spartanburg woman was arrested and charged with criminal domestic violence after a truck she and her boyfriend were in ran a retroreflective STOP sign on Howard St and nearly hit a patrol car an female officer was parked in.

The deputy reported she had to quickly move the patrol car out of the truck’s path.

The report says the passenger got out of the truck and exchanged words with the driver.

The deputy found out the driver and passenger were in a long-term relationship and they were arguing over a broken tag and the movement of furniture.

The driver told the deputy that the passenger had hit him in the head after he called her a name and he lost control of the truck as he was trying to protect himself and ran the STOP sign.

The passenger then admitted to the female cop that she hit the driver.

The female officer then arrested and charged Moneka Robinson with criminal domestic violence.
